hi,
were in the middle of setting up a dmp, we've a joint account(santander), i've got a cc with same bank but only in my name could they take money from joint account to pay debt on this cc? i'm asking as having trouble opening a account else where,
thanks.

By holding a joint account, you have a joint financial link between your credit files. So anything adverse on one will effect the other. There are a number of basic accounts such as the Coop cashminder that don't worry about credit scoring at all on applications for their current account products.Best Regards

the situation isn't very clear...
do both of you pay money into the joint a/c?
are you both doing a DMP?
is the a/c overdrawn?
in any event, it's obviously a very high risk having a joint a/c with a bank you are about to default with.
why doesn't your partner open a new a/c elsewhere and get their income paid in
and of course you need to get your own money paid into a bank elsewhere too... as above basic a/cs would be suitable.0 -
santander have been paying a direct debit (which I cancelled) from my o/d current account to pay my defaulted santander cc, racking up charges on the current account like there is no tomorrow....mind you the jokes on them, as I am now bankrupt - I did tell them that this was how it was going to end months ago, but they obviously felt they could use bully boy tactics to try and get me to pay, its backfiredGetting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg

oh sorry, so my point is, do not continue to bank with them while you are defaulting, cos they will fleece youGetting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg
