Hi,
For the sencond time my daughter's older model itouch 8gb has broken down, just out of guarantee. She took it to the apple store and they want £90 for a replacement. She didn't accept as I think she wants the newer model anyways.
So I'm thinking of maybe paying the £90 for a replacement myself.
Just wondering what is the deal with this, do I get a reconditioned itouch and any guarantee?
Thanks to anyone who knows the answer.
Justin

I think you should also consider the sale of goods act. If in your opinion the device sold to you was not fit for purpose due to an inherent design or manufacturing fault, you could get an independent report to confirm this, them claim your costs back in the small claims court. Consumer Direct, or Citizens advice bureau will help you with this process.
Don't accept faulty goods just because the store's 12 month guarantee has expired. You still have your rights, and often, informing the store that you're aware of your consumer rights is enough to persuade them to be more responsible.
Which? magazine is also pretty good at explaining this.Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0
