Freeserve's New Free Number??

Hello,
I hope someone has the answer to this, I'll explain...
My parents have recently discovered that for the last 6-months they've been charged for their dial-up calls to the Internet via Freeserve. You have an 0800/0845 number which you used, and as long as you call from the number which is registered with Freeserve, your service, as predicted, is free. They pay about £15-20 a month for this.
So anyway. They're now getting charged. They have had no notification from Freeserve that anything has changed, and being in their 60's, they don't see why they should have to phone up a £1/minute technical support line for 30-minutes.
To be honest, they're not too bothered about it. Dad has terminal cancer so it's not that high on their priority list. Just that the cost of these calls is now running into the hundreds and I don't see why they should have to pay that.
Just to reiterate; Freeserve, wannado, Orange, or whatever they're called on this particular day, have NOT written to them advising a change of number to use. Yet convieniently, the old number still works.....
I think Freeserve are being quite underhand here, firstly since my parents pay for free dialup, and secondly since Freeserve have changed the free number, yet have left the old one in place to charge untold.
My parents have only found out from their inflated (hugely) telephone bills.
Does anyone know what this new number is?
Thanks,
Alison
