Is this a Ticket Scam?

Hi hope someone can help....in may this year my son bought gig tickets for Bullet for my Valentine from a company through ebay called premier events promotions ltd. he paid the full amount and was refunded £10 postage as he disputed the £15 postage cost. the tickets have not arrived. the gig is tomorrow (08.12.10) in Manchester. the tickets cost over £90. the web site gave a phone number that my son has been contacting for weeks now and he contacted a guy who said he no longer worked for the company but his number is on the site. he said the 'main man' is in Ireland at the moment. through many further phone calls, he agreed to meet my son in Stockport to give him the tickets but he never contacted my son with a time or definate date. my son asked me to contact this number as he felt this man was now ignoring his calls. i phoned him last night and told him the problem, he knew my sons name and said about the meeting that should have taken place. i explaiend that this was not on and mentioned to him that we may have to go to the police with the details. he gave us the name of the chap who recieves the money. He said he would ring back but he never did. since this phone call the web site seems to have disappeared!!!! overnight, and the contact we have will not now answer the phone....up to last night they were selling Take That Tickets and i am concerned that people will have ordered tickets from them with no hope of getting them knowing the high demand for them...we now don't know what to do...does anyone have any ideas please, this person or company are getting very rich on other peoples misfortunes to have contacted them, ordered and paid for tickets in the first place, just to finish...when i went on the site last night and clicked on terms and conditions the page was BLANK...i think that says it all. i contacted Paypal and they said there is nothing they can do as they can only help if the claim is within 45 days of purchase...this is not good. i argued that they are not safeguarding enough from scams and they argued that the they did not know the tickets would not come we should have chased it earlier...they said that if they were informed of an illegal transaction they would then help...so i asked that if we could prove this site was a scam we could get our money back and they said no because it is over 45 days!!!! contradition in itself!!!

Ebay/Paypal only allow 45 days to claim item not received. Sounds like you bought direct and not through ebay though?

Claim from your credit card? Bit of a grey area though because you paid paypal not them directly.

Do a whois search and find the registered address for the website. Not always genuine though.

    Is this the website: http://www.peventsp.co.uk/index.php

Looks like a fairly obvious scam site to me. The fact the number is a mobile number should have rung alarm bells when ordering.

  • Thanks for that, before you could just type in premier events/prmotions and the site came up, would never have found this new site.
I am wondering if the name he gave me is sus also. chances are this address is no longer used but i will certainly give it a try and find a phone number as the number it gives the guy will not answer the phone now, be great if there was another number

thanks to all again you are stars!!!
  • Hi Again, unfortunately just googled this adress for this company but it just an inductrial estate and does not give any names or numbers. rang the domain site and they suggest contacting the police which is fair enough but just wished we could track this guy down, does anyone have any idea how to get details through a mobile number or other way, i know we are bound by data protection but there may be a way, thanks again
