Poorly - what to eat?

            Anybody to cook for you?
HM thin chicken soup made with the carcass or a couple of skinless chicken thighs boiled up (with seasoning, finely chopped onion and a little garlic and fresh ginger if you like it). Add a little rice if you want some stodge.
The best, most nourishing, easily digested invalid food!
nope, all on my own :-(
went to the shop, but they had no Complan so I got their own brand slim fast type thing, with the idea at least it had some vitamins and stuff in it0

Plenty of liquids (herbal teas are a very good idea), light solids. Souffle omelettes and milky semolina or rice puddings are a personal favourite. Chicken broth (or a stock cube dissolved in a mug), is easy on the stomach and nourishing."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

I know, thank God for all the teapigs super fruit tea I have in
Can manage the odd cup of normal tea as well. It's ridiculous, started at 6am Friday, and still not right0

We can have a telephone appointment with our GPs so we don't have to go to the surgery. Perhaps your surgery does the same?
How do you know it was nirovirus? Is that self-diagnosed? If it has continued this long and you're still bad, it would be worth contacting the GP.0

nearly passed out and ended up getting ambulance, then was referred to out of hours doctor and diagnosed over phone - apparently norovirus is spreading like wildfire around here.
I can contact the GP, but in all honesty I don't think it's worth it - luckily the vomiting etc has stopped. I'm taking paracetomol for my temperature, just got the really bad cough, aching all over, and feel weak. Can't bear anything touching my legs, and no appetite0

If you are feeling weak and aching, your body is trying to fight something- it will need some form of energy to do this.
Look, I don't have the answers, but I worry your not going to help yourself get better and so will stay ill for longer. Its not easy to eat without an appetite I know, and its even harder when you still have stuck in your mind the fear that what you will eat will make you vomit. It wont always be like this but you will need to push yourself to eat something if you want to break that fear and if you want your body to have the stregnth to fight this.
You may find some foods easier to eat then others- I really think thats personal choice. Think about options, make a list- don't just try anything and hope it works, there will be foods which you personally will find more appetising then others. You could have a stock cube in water or stick to the 10kcal soups but its not doing anything more then adding some salts and fluids back into your system. Helpful to your electrolytes after all that vomiting yes, but no good to regaining your stregnth. You really need something carb based. Bread/toast, pasta/rice/couscous, cereal even cakes or buns if your that desperate and can stomach them! Once your body has some energy you may find your able to fight the bug better and so feel better much sooner.
When you do have a bit more stregnth maybe then expand your plan a little at a time but you need to start somewhere.
Try eating a little at a time. You don't need to feel bad if you can't finish a whole plate or bowl of something, anything is better then nothing and it will still help you. Keep snacks close by so your able to eat little and often and little bit by little bit.
Keep your fluids up, rest well and I hope you get better soon.0

have been to doctors today - something viral, and not given any meds
I've eaten some doritos and dip - not healthy, but what I fancied. It's not so much the fear of being sick, as anything sort of creamy/bland (cheese, butter, yoghurt) making me feel sick again
Had a cup of tea as well and some lucozade0

So glad you have been to the doctors at least you no its something viral. My mum when she has a sick bug she can only eat a oxo cube in boiling water and bread. Hope you feel better soon.0
