Finlock Gutters

Hi everyone ,I'm new to the forum and needing expert help as I have'nt had much luck in my home town.
I live in a Mid-Terraced house with leaking Finlock guttering:(.
In the last couple of weeks I have spoken to a few local builders, one who suggested re-lining, but has not bothered with any further contact & another who has quoted for extending the roof over the Finlock, then attaching a fascia & new plastic guttering system. This is not removal of the Finlock, but ceasing exposure to the elements.
I do not know how good a cure this would be, but the same thing has been done to an identical property to mine & the lady seems very happy with the results.
The price I have been quoted for this is £2,300. I am not sure if this is the best solution as most on this forum seem to suggest removal of the Finlock.
i would be most grateful for advise & opinions on the best option and if anyone knows of someone local to me whom is competent at carrying out this kind of work!:)

There are compnies on the web who have lining systems on which they offer 20 year guarantee's

I think the biggest problem is where the properties are in a terrace and one wants to line the Finlock and others want to go for the oversail solution . When this occurs the flashing between the two systems gets very messy. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
Hi
Here in East Kent, my youngest son has a 1960's semi with the same system (hip roof, so three sections).
I cleared the gutters and used a sealing "paint" product recommended by a local roofing supplies company. The leakage problem he had was due mainly to a blockage on the downpipe, which I replaced with plastic.
Eventually, we will look to get the Finlock system replaced and I did some research on the web, finding several specialist companies.
Some use a lining system and others effectively angle-grind the concrete flush with the brickwork, then extend the timber and fit convential sovits/facias and guttering.
I bookmarked a link to one company but not sure if they cover your area, but gives an idea though? I cannot obviously vouch for this company or any other.
Good luck and be interested on which solution you choose.

Thank you to philbostavros & anotheraldrick for your suggestions,
I have already spoken too & had a quote for £2,900 from TLG for removal of the finlock guttering, whilst fascias4u did reply to an email about roughly how much I should pay per metre for replacing the finlock but does not come down as far as weston for work.
If anyone does know of someone closer to home scilled in this area or can give recommendations/vouch for the work of TLG I would be grateful.0
