Apart from anything else can you imagine how long its going to take to get some heat back into the fabric of the building if its completely off whilst you are away?

I haven't got a condensing boiler yet ..but have read quite a bit about them ..
Apparently quite a few of them in this weather suffer from frozen condensate pipe .. (this happens even whlist they are in full use)which could lead to them cycling and going into fault mode ..some don't ..they keep cycling ..untill they !!!!!! up.
if this happens when you are at home ..the cure, i hear is to pour warm water on the pipe to defrost it .
what happens when you are away ..?..in this weather there is every chance that it will freeze up.
I'M, sure I've read somewhere, that there is some sort of anti-frost device / electrical heating device, that you can buy for the pipe .
May be called a "heat trace" or something .
All the best.markj0
