Am I smelling a rat

I've just won an xbox 360 not brand new but still costing £20...he is not offering postage discount for multiple buys etc...so instead of the usual pay now button , it says request total amount???. Now the guy has sent me his address details for to send a cheque, postal order etc, there is no option to use paypal but has sent through ask a question. His feedback is ok but he hasn't bought for a while....I just get the feeling that had he sent me an invoice the address details may be different....
I think there is a way of finding his details, what do you think...?

I agree. The "request total amount" is for when an invoice has not yet been sent.

I would click on this an request it. Then also send him a message through ebay stating that the invoice he has sent isn't the official ebay one, so upon receipt of the official one you will submit payment.

Keep all messages and stuff he sends you as evidence should this go a bit pear shaped.

Does the seller seem dodgy from his account history & feedback?
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I have just managed to get contact details, it doesn't give address (?) but his name and hometown are the same...but to be safe, I sent him a letter explaining and not to be offended but will pay when I receive an invoice...
Think it is ok but want to be sure.

A few things that are odd:
    1. Most ebayers allow you to email them before the auction ends to find out the cost of postage.
    2. Those ebayers that don't like paypal normally give you their full name and address plus a bank account number to pay into, with options to pay by cheque and PO.

This means you can check they actually exist via the electoral roll, the internet or companies house if they are a business.

I suggest you ask the person for their name and address, and say that you can collect the item from his house because you will be in the area at some point. If he refuses to give you these details then report him to ebay.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
