hey Wilf. If you hadn't made the money that you have done - then you would have had to find the bill money from somewhere else and would be worse off. Even if you have had to spend the money on Bills you are still better off by the amount of money you have made.
say you had 1k of bills you would now be worse off by a 1 k hole in your finances probably in terms of extra overdraft or bigger credit card bills. The fact that you had made the 1k means your finances don't have that 1k hole in them. therefore you are still 1k better off than if you hadn't made the money. in fact if you hadn't made the money you probably would be paying interest on the credit too so the hole would be much more than 1k. so in fact you are probably more than 1k better off than if you hadn't made the money.
Yay Wilf - the money that you have made so far means that for at least some of the bills you haven't had that fear or desperation of not knowing where to find the money and then how you are going to pay it off if you do find the money. Maybe for not all the bills but for a substantial amount. That is worth a lot in my book at least.
You have made money and that money has been very useful to you.

Great advice Jo. I am in the same position too Wilf. I am making money (not totalled yet) but using it to pay off stuff. This will help me big time one day in the future, when all bills and cards are paid off and I am debt free :) So, even if the odd £50 has to be paid to the school for school meals or to the credit card company as an overpayment then it is all for the greater good. And Wilf, your total is fab by the way, well done :T

Wow 11k in a year, that is a huge challenge! I don't see how I could possibly manage that, but then I haven't read through the whole thread yet. It is already 121 pages, so I assume there are lots of helpful hints and tips :-)

And even if I wouldn't manage those kind of numbers, I think it would be fun to be part of the challenge anyway :-) I am on a challenge rampage at the moment. So can you add Gigglepig too please?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
evening all, I'm back after a two week break, a little down on where id like to be but rearing to go again. I had my parents here for 2 weeks so have really enjoyed spending time with them. Its hard living so far away from them but made the most of this 2weeks and had the best time ever.

On a positive note though im back of to a good start, another £25 added today and won £20 on bingo on camp last week so that went in the tin as well. I have £10 in topcash back but im not going to count that untill i withdraw wich ill do when i have an half decent amount in there. but my £45 is enough for today.

may disappear for a few weeks again in a few weeks as we just found out we are moving to the other end of the island, wich is great for me after some really bad bullying round here, but wont be able to update my totals when i go untill we get the internet sorted. really looking forward to the move though a whole new start.
everyone is doing so well, great to see some really impressive totals already
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

Have got a extra £50 to add to kitty later from ebay. Have signed up yo a few survey sites last couple of days. So theres a start there.

Only got £135 in jan, but thats the hardest month out the way!! So after this week should be able to save more yey!

  • My total for January was £604.49, which I am ecstatic with. I have used the money to pay off a £350 overdraft which has been hanging over my head for a long time, and to partially pay off another overdraft I have. I anticipate that by the end of February I will pay off my second overdraft.

Thanks for all the ideas ad help everyone has given on here, I really couldn't have paid these off without your help.

I have a few things in the pipeline to make some cash in Feb, some things to ebay, £11 of survey earnings to come, £50 from topcashback on its way and hopefully £100 from changing my current account once I get myself into gear and sort it. :)

    Cheers all
