  • Ive won a fair bit on bingo today, funny that as i was a newbie, but got a bit confused with withdrawing it,so ive got about £40 ish to come. Had about £30 track on cashback as well today so ive had a very good day! Got confirmation that the car was written off today so we are just waiting on the settlement figure. OH said that i can have whats left after the excess has been paid and the money to pay back his mum with but i think im going to loose out on the original amount that i paid towards it.

Im hoping DD will be in bed early tonight so i can play some more bingo :D

    Hi Everyone

Haven't been around as I've been celebrating birthdays. So I'll post my totals and then have a quick check up.

I'm up to £85.74 on sales. And before the birthday the savings fund was up to £261.07.

Happy to report the birthday was a very pleasant affiair with an eye on the budget so plenty of moneysaving ideas.

    Here goes:
Stayed in a Travel lodge which was already a saving. But I got the room in the sale so saved £37.50 on the average room price.

Took my own breakfast which was brilliant lux food bought in the supermarket. Croissants, strawberrys juice - fresh coffee etc all lovely and for about a tenner. Would have cost a fortune in the Holiday Inn next door even the cheapy Travel lodges offer would have cost £15.30 so I'll declare a £5.30 saving.

By the way the Pear Tree Travel lodge in Oxford is so close to the Park and Ride I have to recomend it. Friendly staff also but there is a refurb at the moment so noisy in the day time. I was out so it didn't matter. On with the savings - I can really recommend the Park and Ride - 12 minutes into Oxford centre - there '2 to go' scheme gets you into town for £1 a time - the cab would have been a least a fiver so I recon I saved £18 squid on travellling costs.

Used a voucher for £20 off a meal in Loch Fynne - well it is January. Had a bit more lux for a birthday meal in the Brassiere Blanc - oh la - a once a year treat. Proud to tell you I stuck to the lunch time menu deal - which I can really rave about and includes a free glass of wine with a very reasonable 3 course meal for £15.30 and perfect service - All in for £20 per head - lovely jubbly. I don't want to tell what the full makoy would set you back - not for the sqimish. So all that considered I'm chaulking up £85.30 total savings. Birthday cash so far £125.

That's me now for the month - so will change signatures to show Savings of £351.37 and cash and sales £200.74 = £752.11 not bad for the first month of our challenge. Time to catch up with what you've all been doing.
