    evening all :D

got signed up to costa bingo 2nite so ive been playing away here - can you buy free tickets for all 4 of the free rooms? ive done this but not sure if it still applies once you leave the room?

i have noticed there are special games where you can pre buy - ive done this as i made my first deposit.

also does anyone know if you need to use your deposit within a certain period of time?

    sorry for the ramble lol!

I couldn't see where to prebuy tickets, can you help :o I had a look round but I haven't registered yet. I had a look on the Sun earlier and you get a free spin on a wheel of fortune thingy. You also get a free bingo game that they prebuy the tickets for you.

How's Costa going? Sprinkles lucky dust lol

  • back again! had a semi-productive food shop,we only bought store brand items unless the branded one was on offer and we still went over budget but it should last two weeks and i did get a thermos for OH for his tea because i begrudge paying £1.50 for a cup of tea at the car boot sale, and we hope to do a fair few over the next few weeks. We downsized from a 3 bed house to a 2 bed flat in a matter of weeks so we have lots to get rid of,which will probably provide the majority of our total :)

Just signed up to my first mystery shop. Only a reimbursement of £20, but I need some new clothes anyway so will actually be like a £20 discount at my favourite shop!

    Steady away.

Ebay still no bids and I'm running out of ideas at the minute. Need to scour this thread I think for some new ideas. Part of the fun is figuring out different ways to get some extra cash I think!

Edit - forgot to mention, paid off my Abbey/Santander overdraft of £350 today!

Now only (!) my Natwest overdraft at £1100, my Barclaycard at £650 and my holiday at £1150. Blimey.
  • Hiya Is it too late to join? no its a bit late better late than never hay,

I dont know if Im gonna make it too 11k but aim high.

Im trying really hard to make enough spending money for a trip to New York i won off the competitions page a few months back only 6 weeks to go. Then after that planning to get married in 2012 so any extra is to be put away for that.

So far this month i've got £25.08 music magpie, £80.06 e bay quidco £2.82, top cash back £3.25,
    Vouchers survey £10.

Just looking at the pile of my hardly used in excellent condition items on the floor in front of me an needed inspiration to list some more things an came across this thread....

Another one late to the party, I'm afraid. Haven't done one of these before, but need all the money we can get. I'm off to a good start with a tax rebate (technically in my OH's name) for £1,061, plus I've got a nappy cake being sold on Thursday so that's another £30, as I had all the ingredients already here.
However, that's as far as I've got. We've have boxes of DVDs lurking under our bed, so will dig those out & get them onto Music Magpie or similar. Have also got an excess of food due to Christmas being a lot smaller than originally planned due to illness, so have meal planned for this week with what I have.
That said, I have just placed an order to be delivered tomorrow, but it's for essentials - toilet rolls, nappies & wipes etc, rather than food.
We've also moved our 4 cats from pouch food to a real meat diet. There's a wholesale pet shop near us & they sell rabbit, chicken-&-tripe, beef & fish for animals & after a trial run, I can feed the cats 1 bag of 400g white fish, which will last them all day, whereas before I would have gone through at least 12 x 100g pouches for them. They will still have the dry food available & they seem to love the new meals. The white fish works out 2p more expensive per 400g pack than the pouches, but the rabbit is 87p cheaper than the equivalent weight in pouch food, so should work out at a considerable saving over time. Hopefully.
I'm also up to £25 in Consumer Pulse, which I'm going to try to save up for Christmas 2011, in order to get that as cheaply as possible.
Am also going to dig out my free sewing machine (friend didn't want it & it hasn't got an instruction manual, so it looks very daunting with all its programmes & buttons, knobs & dials....!) and want to make quilts for my niece & nephew for Christmas presents. If I can work out how to operate the machine! :)

RE are okay, you can use them to get experience but they are probably one of the lowest paid out there. I like GfK and ABA-i. If you want online work Edigital is good, they are recruiting at the moment too. It takes a little while to apply but it is flexible. The only company I personally had a problem with on the Mystery Shopping thread was BARE. They made me wait ages for my money so I don't do their work now. The thread is good though and everyone has different favourite firms. :D

Rachel, if you could explain the ABA-i website to me I'd love you forever. I've got a bunch of clients on there, click through to my area but have never had an available assignment, even though most of the stores that ABA-i work for are based in my area. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know what the rules are in here but I know the Mystery Shopping thread is no fees or client names so I'd be careful what you mention hun
  • Nada here but got some tuition tomorrow, plus have reregistered as a tutor. I had loads of enquires last time but didn't bother - a little bit ridiculous considering how much more I can make an hour compared to surveys etc... am going to be more motivated this time... thanks you you all :D

hi molllly - global test market - can you tell me more about this please? i dont mind if you would prefer to pm me with details and/or referral if possible?

i would also be interested if anyone wanted to pm me with mystery shopping referrals. the only one im already signed up with is grassroots. most of them dont seem to have many visits for northern ireland i think but worth a go anyway!

    thanks in advance

    Hi credit_crunch

Global Test Market is quite slow to build up points but I find surveys are pretty regular, even if they are quite long. They used to be better than they are now though, just before I redeemed my points I was being screened out of quite a lot of surveys. But it's worth signing up as every little helps I suppose! There isn't a referral scheme (that I can find anyway) so I can't send you a link.

Also, with mystery shopping, I was the same as you and signed up to GrassRoots and didn't hear anything. I'm now signed up to Retail Eyes, it seems good so far and I've been offered quite a lot of jobs already and have my first one on Friday. If you PM me your email address then I can send you a referral if you are interested?

    Hope that helps :)
