Hey all, not been on for a few days. How is everyone doing? What have I missed? I don't have time to catch up :(
  • Hey all. I've been lurking since this thread started and put up a post about ink cartridges a few days back. But I didn't say hi so apologies for that! I'm not going to officially take part in this challenge because I'll find it impossible to maintain a total. But I will be using some of the hints and tips on here to save and make as much as I can in 2011. But I will still share whatever tips I can come up with. Hope that's ok with y'all! And the best of luck to everyone else. I hope everyone makes the 11K and more!

So my tip for today is the Asda Price Guarantee which I haven't seen mentioned on here yet. Since 5 January the terms have changed so Asda will guarantee to be 10% cheaper than their rivals or refund the difference. Of course the scheme isn't perfect as not every item can be compared, but if you regularly shop at Asda it's worth keeping your receipts and checking them. So far I have had trolleys of shopping £7+ cheaper and £2.60 cheaper, which I have redeemed in my next shop. Not a massive amount but "Every Little Counts" (oops, that's not Asda - *pats backside instead* ).

Today boought a kilt, got 10% discount (better than nothing) but as my mother is getting married and my graduation is this summer and it's my birhday soon, she decided to pay the £355.50 for it. So £355.50 SAVED! And this will probably be more longterm due to not having to hire.

About 100 watchers on 4 items on ebay now so excit4ed about that too.
    Wins:
July 2013: 1.Men's bespoke bracelet 2. Signed Primal Scream album
  • Hi, is it too late to sign up for this? Need to find alternate income as I'm being made redundant in March.

Decided to make a change in the way I manage this. I'm having two catorgories Savings and Sales and I'll show the total in my signature. Made a book sale today and decided to cancel the family travel insurance so saved myself £88.57. If I change my mind and take an overseas holiday I'll probably kick myself but at the moment I have no plans - so it's a saving for me.

Also managed to get 5 small things on ebay so see how it goes.
  • i used £20 off my nectar vouchers for shopping and shaved £40 off my weekly shop, so theres £60, for my pot.

My stuff on ebay has some bids and quite a few watchers, now i just need to sell it!

Applied for 2 part time jobs x
