Best card for an 8k spend, with rewards ideally!

My dad will be making a purchase of £8000 on a credit card soon. What is the best credit card to use?

It is important that it is interest free on purchases for 12months+ and would be great to be able to get more benefits on top of that.

He applied around a month ago for a barclaycard and was given a limit of 8k which he has not yet used. I am thinking tesco would be a good idea but is he likely to be offered another card so soon? Is it also right that an 8k spend would only equate to £20 in vouchers?!

Does anyone have any better suggestions? I also looked at Amex but it is only 6 mnths 0%.

Thanks x

    Depending on his salary
    He has now been accepted for a barclaycard with 8k limit,when he now apply for another card the lender will see this 8k limit,and if accepted they will see his available credit limit on his barclaycard which may suggest they might refuse or give him a little credit limit.

    Would there be anything to lose in applying anyway? Is it definitely just £20 that would be earnt in vouchers? X

    £1 = 1 point
    1 point = 1p

    so 8,000 spend would be £80 .... tesco do specials with the points being worth double or more

    Is it not a point for every £4?

    sorry, you are correct;
    I was confusing spending in tesco stores with general spending
