Don't start drilling, welding or gluing until you're absolutely sure they're worthless. Because they will be, the moment you damage them.
You are essentially looking for two things. Condition and rarity. First check to see what dates any silver coins are. Pre-1920 are silver, 1920-1946 are half silver. These have bullion value even if they are in poor condition. Then look for scarce dates. Pennies dated 1950, 1951, 1953 for example. Anything pre-1900 is worth a second look.
If you can be bothered make a list of all the coins you have (just denomination and date will do for a start), PM it to me and I'll have a look over it.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
