I need help from someone who is knowledgeable.
I had a website designed, developed and hosted by a company. I was not happy with their services to be very honest.
I have come to the end of the hosting now, in fact its two months overdue. They are asking for £175 plus VATS for a further years hosting.
Since having that site developed I have another 2 or 3 made and have set up an account with UK2NET which allows me to register unlimited amounts of websites with them and 100GB of hosting space. I know my sites dont use lots of bandwith.
My question is what I would need to set up my own hosting and how I would do it.
I dont want to tell my old hosting company what I am planning in case they remove my site from being live.
Thanks very much.

So, just to be clear, you're asking how you would go about moving your website from your present host, to UK2NET?
It's pretty easy if the website was developed in pure HTML/CSS/JS - you can just copy these through a browser.
However, if it is implemented as a content management system, then you will need the cooperation of your present host.
You'll also need them to transfer the domain to you, hopefully they won't try to charge you an admin fee. If they do, and the domain is registered to you, then you could seek arbitration from Nominet / ICANN.Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0
