Thermal roller blinds

Options
I'd like to buy some, seven of them to be exact.

Does anyone have any experiences with them, which type is best, or what material, any advice on where to buy them from?
Or anything else.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

'Fraid I can't be a lot of help but you could consider the following.

    1. Find blind/makers installer in your yellow pages and ask them.

    2. Buy DIY blind making kits and suitable material and make your own. It is quite easy as I once did it.

    3. if they are for Velux type windows you can buy them from the Velux type people. They will fit better than DIY ones. I once had blackout blinds in a Velux type window and they were excellent although not cheap.

And that's all I can suggest.

Not sure if they are the 'best' but recently bought a thermal black-out blind from Argos. Initially I just wanted a temporary window covering but then decided to go for a thermal option in order to "test-drive" for future use. I have been very, very pleased with its performance in this cold weather. The room has been much warmer than with the previously used heavy, lined curtains with no cold spots by the window and heat being retained.

The one I got was the cheapest for its size (as it was only for temporary use) and does the job - though I don't think you can be heavy-handed with the mechanism. The fabric also creased very easily during installation, though these are gradually fading.

So - two things I would check for for permanent use is how crease resistant the fabric will be during installation and how robust is the winding mechanism. Apart from this the only difference between makes would be range and choice of colours and patterns.
