I think it is a power saving device. But it really only takes a few seconds to boot up, I got used to it pretty quickly and don't even think about it now.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

It might be worth looking in the settings. There is probably an option for it. But saying that Humax isn't all that good with options, my Humax Freeview recorder box doesn't have an option to stop that silly red button symbol on the BBC that will ruin my TV if left on. Grrrr @ Humax0

There's an energy saving mode that means when you put it in standby the clock doesn't show. All your recordings etc will still take place, so question is, why on earth do you want to leave it switched on overnight? It's meant to 'boot' (not reboot) every time you switch it on, all PVRs do that.0

thanks all for replies i always thought it had to be left on to accept software upgrades etc so thanks for teaching an idiot that it doesnt need to be on to do that , many of us are not techy on here thats why we/I ask what may seem stupid questions.....:rotfl:my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0
