Best time to buy windows?

Obviously getting windows fitted in the summer is preferable due to the weather but I was wondering whether or not it's generally cheaper due to less demand to get windows in the winter?

I have just had an advert from Everest..they claim that we can save upt o 40 % if we do it now as 'lots of people in my area are getting it done before winter sets in, and so we have greater buying power'...or is that just sales talk?!

  • on that subject, are Safestyle UK any good? They are alwasy promoting, and making out that they are the cheapest...but as we know; cheapest isn't always best!
  • Hi,

Safestyle UK are not very good i work for a double glazing company and have heard some really bad stories about these.

They are so over priced and how can anyone give you 50% off or buy the front and we will fit the back of the house free what a load of rubbish.

As for your first question about best time to buy, Depends on the company you use. I would say the slackest time for doube glazing companys would be around Jan-April.

Email me some sizes and i would let you know approx what you should be paying but i do not travel to scotland :).

I wouldn't use any of the nationals - find out who makes uPVC windows in your area & give them a call - ask if they can recommend anyone locally. I managed to get someone who'd fit the windows for £40 (6 years ago) & paid for the window direct to the manufacturer.
  • I've worked for a medium sized local double glazing firm on and off for years and they do slacken off after christmas. They don't however, sell their windows cheaper at any time of the year. All these ads you see saying 40% 50% off are a load of guff.Have them supplied and fitted by a reputable local firm and save yourself the hard sell.
