How Much Will You Spend On Bonfire Night?

I was just wondering how much people will spend on bonfire night, when whatever you spend will just go up in flames! literally burning money.
A few years ago we used to throw a little party for our DD and a few friends, buying food, drinks, fireworks and sparklers. One time my DH bought some rockets, one alone cost £30!!!!! Now it was fantastic but I can't believe we spent so much money just to see it go up in flames.
For the last couple of years we have gone to an organised bonfire & firework display and it is very good. The only expense now is a 50p donation at the gate and another 50p on a toffee apple or such like.

yep about the same for me. I cant have fires anyway cos of the blocvk of flats Im in, so we are all going up to ALly pally and probably have a few beers and what not plus the entrance fee, but I cant se eus spending more than each and we will probably be legless for that :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
£0 - it has to be one of the most pointless nights of the year to waste money on (unless you have Kids, even then they'd probably prefer going to the local park with bigger fireworks and with a fair to spend money on)0

Well, there's a free firework display in town so nothing but petrol to go to that one and then we have a party every year at my friend's parent's house so I will probably donate £10 of fireworks and food to that cause.Student moneysaving club - member no. 6Uni Reading0

I was hit in the head two years ago by a firework (at the back, only lost a clump of hair, no real burns)... so I hate them. Hate the noises, the smells, everything. At a push i'd go to Hamspstead Heath with OH and watch them from the hill for free but as it is, we're going home to our folks for the weekend and ignoring them all. I'd have thought a nice council display, costing £3 for the family, would be the norm though?
Do they still sell those green lightup necklaces at firework displays, or was that just local to me?0 -
Totally agree, you might as well light the bottom of a £20 note and watch it burn away. There are plenty of organised firework displays to go to, and they don't cost a fortune in admission charges. Where I live they start letting fireworks off in September and it doesn't stop until January!!!! By November 5th we've had enough of them anyway.
p.s Bobbadog.....yes I think they still do sell those green fluourescent necklaces. I wasn't allowed them as a child, something to do with the stuff in the middle was poisonous!
