Refurbished TV at Curry's

Can anyone give their opinion on refurbished TV's from Currys and Dixons etc.? Was thinking of getting one for the kids for christmas - better to buy new or do you think these are ok?

My personal opinion is that buying anything from Dixons group is a bad move if anything goes wrong, so I certainly wouldn't buy a refurb TV from them (mind you i'd also not buy a new TV that wasn't a refurb from them).

Only if they still have a 12m warranty and the price is really cheap...

    Looking on the website:

    http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/refurbished-tvs/301_3004_30004_xx_xx/xx-criteria.html?sPageInfo=2_12&sSortInfo=topsellers-desc&sDisplayAllBrands=y

its all own brand in house tat, I wouldnt buy it new let alone after Currys have refurbished it.

Posted lots of times, but have you tried Richer Sounds? Give Dixons, Currys etc a wide berth.[/QUOTE]

thanks will check them out but had to laugh as the last time I bought from them they were empire direct. I bought a 700 quid sony TV and i was 1 year into a 5 yr warantee when they went bust

Richer Sounds have always been richer sounds, never owned by Empire Direct, they brought the rights to Empire when they went under.
