DHL have said they will not be collecting any more parcels until they clear their hubs. This could be next week. You may find they have taken a more professional approach than some other companies who will just let them pile up.

It is nice to see a courier thinking about thier customers and not just about the money.

Yeah great. DHL have my parcel in Gateshead and have had for 8 days now. I've called and they won't even let me collect it, I just have to wait. Thanks DHL.

Basically, DHL can not deliver anything to Scotland now until AFTER Christmas. Other couriers will accpet bookings but I'd imagine similar issues with backlogs. Royal Mail seems to be making it, if you can break parcels down small enough. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Extra pressure will be lumped on Royal Mail. Could be a rum Christmas for distance sellers.0

Genius. My parcel has been moved from Gateshead (about 3 miles away) to LEEDS. When I asked why I was told that in order to better manage their backlogs they are moving pallets around different hubs. !!!!!!! great news.0

It seems they stopped collecting on the 6th December.
They haven't resumed yet. Some info here: DHL suspends collections.
It seems TNT and others are collecting as normal.
The message is clear: Avoid DHL for the time being.0 -
This problem seems to have more to do with congestion in their depots that the weather. Fedex have delivered two parcels to Dundee last week with only a day or two delay.0
