I keep getting a pop up saying my PC has been infected with a potentially lethal spyware virus that could infect and damage my PC. Ive used McAfree virus scan but it either stops and closes itself down half way through. Im getting these pop ups every 2 minutes but they keep taking me to a site to buy better protection ie American packages $44.99. I am not excellent on a PC but it seems like its Adware trying to get me to buy something. Could I be wrong?

Exactly what it is. What site is it trying to bring you to?
Get AdAware and spybot, and resist the temptation to click on the popup (unless you need to know where it's bringing you!).
