how long to wait?

I accepted a second chance offer for a DVD and received it on 17/10. I received a copy DVD though, not the real thing

I emailed the seller to explain that I didn't realise that I was bidding on a copy and would I be able to return it for a refund? A few days later they agreed that I could return for a refund.

I realised then that I didn;t have his address, so tried to get the contact through ebay, they just gave me the town he lived in, not the actual address  . So I emailed the seller again to ask.

I haven't received a reply.

On 24/10 ebay removed the listings, so I emailed the seller again to ask for his address so i could return the DVD for the refund.

I haven't received a reply yet and the seller is no longer a registered user.

How long should I wait before approaching paypal for a refund? I paid £7.05 for the DVD with £2.95 postage (£10 in total).

Sorry - it's a bit of a saga! Am I being a bit too eager?

Thanks

  • I don't think you should'nt hold your breath. It looks like you are stuck with a copy I'm afraid.

I don't think it very likely you'll get any contact with them at all.

you could try paypal now and do a chargeback but.....
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.
  • Only if they have left anything in their account, which I doubt.

I have just filed a dispute with paypal. Bearing in mind he is NARU'd, should I just escalate it immediately, or wait. I don't think this guy will contact me!
