hello again, twice in one day wonders will never cease. Once upon a time i used to be on here two or three times a day and these days i'm lucky if it's once a day. My priorities haven't changed i'm still going to get DF but i think the fear of not surviving my situation has receeded.

Tonight i joined Weight Watchers! i may occassionally hint at it but i am in reality a very large person, i'm also not happy with how i look and feel all the time. Sometime this afternoon, whilst at work, i made the decision that i'm going to do something about it. I've joined places like this before but i've always done it because i thought i should do it but this time i'm doing it because I want to do it. (Just remind me of that when i desperately want chocolate or i've had a bad week please).

This year my life is going to change, i've spent the last 6 years concentrating on my debt and getting rid of it, and in the process i think i've forgotten about myself if some ways. It's not my excuse for how i am what i am, i've always been large and it's because i like my food that i've got this way. I know that we WILL get our new house, which will entail a staircase (i've lived in a ground floor flat for 10 years which i'm sure hasn't helped). I'm moving to a town with more facilities so i'm planning on going swimming at least once a week. The pool is just up the road from our new house so i have no excuses. I need energy to help get the house modernised, and so that when we have a dog i can take my fair share of the work. I also need energy because i'm fed up of being tired and lethargic all the time, not being able to do things, or go places, or being judged based on what i look like.

sorry for the essay, especially as it's not really on a money related theme but you are all my friends so i thought i would share with whom ever is reading.

Wishing you well with it LT - having declared it on your diary means you have to follow through you know, ;) and therefore this is really good news - before you know it you will be the DF new slimmer you in your new house with your new life. :j

There are various threads around on weight loss: I know I find it helpful to be answerable and while you will get that at WW, if you need support in between times you could look on here too.

Let us know how it goes!

Well done LT, you've gone public, therefore you mean it!

Once you get used to the change of routine, you'll love the exercise, swimming is great, apart from the getting wet bit (sorry, my least favourite pastime!:rotfl:) and as you say, the stairs will make a difference. I will help and support you if I can, I might even join you for a stone or so.

Good for you LT. Deciding to lose weight because you want to will be so much easier than doing it because other people think you should etc. we are all here for you if and when you need support (I have half a stone to lose)

Stairs will definitely help and swimming (although I'm with Piq on this one - I hate getting wet). My mum lost 4stone on WW the year I got married and (give or take a few pound) has kept it off in 7years!

thank you everyone, i'm not sure why i posted it all on here, strangely enough i turned the puter off as soon as i'd done it, but you're all very right i've declared it now on here where people 'know' me so i really am answerable. I'm not doing too badly today though i have to admit i'm a tad hungry but i've got to get used to not always having pudding. It's not as though i haven't eaten a fair bit today so i'm not really hungry.
Taxi you're my role model you've done so well! I'm getting used to the new points system, thankfully it's so long ago that i've been on the WW plan that i can't remember the old one so i'm learning from scratch therefore am paying more attention which is for the good.
