The i company i would recommend have one for bang on £500 if you remove the carry bag. But is fairly powerful, Great service as well. https://www.pcspecailist.co.uk

They have really well designed web page. Personally I would not go for one made by a small company as often the parts like batteries and the plastic bits are hard to get.

You will always get hp, dell and tosh bits, chargers and batteries on ebay. The above is a little too niche, and a tad expensive, would expect more for my money to be blunt.

I would also keep an eye open here http://www.hotukdeals.com/computers/deals/hot

If you cant find anyone selling it, how can it be the best option? You do not know any price.

About the only thing in your 'spec' is sub £500.

The Medion Akoya P6625 is available from Medion's online store but at £669, so well outside your budget.

it also depends on what you actually want to do with it,
if you are just going to be browsing and email any current laptop with a duel core CPU and 2gb of ram will do so you can save money,
if you want to do some gaming then you will struggle to get a laptop good enough to game on for a few years with that budget (beyond your very basic games)
if you want to do some video encoding or image editing you would need a better CPU and more RAM than if you just want to store loads of videos and music to watch and listen to as in which case you would probably want a bigger hard drive

basically when you are working to a budget you need to know what the planned usage is so you can make your compromises in the right areas
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • The Medion Akoya P6625 was reviewed in many places in September 2010 saying it had a i5 processor, about £549 and top specs to go with it. I contacted Medion and they said they have pulled that version and replaced it with a i3 model :(. Im looking for a powerful laptop that can last, so the Medion Akoya P6625 would have suited me! Anyone have recommendations?
