Protecting my pc

Hiya guys I've just bought a brand new pc and I was wondering what I could do best to keep it running at its very best.

I currently have NOD32 as my anti virus, and mcafee firewall. What other software should I ideally have guys?

Also how often would you guys recommend running scan disk, defrag, anti virus, and is there anything else I should run.

Looking for any help at all here guys, cheers

Steve

If you've got anti-virus and a firewall then all you need is anti-Spyware; Spybot and AdAware are both good programs and both free. Take your pick.

Up to you how often you run all the stuff. Maybe once a month to start with. Depends how much how use the PC and how much stuff you install/download. If you aren't using it much then do it less often.
