bartering/haggling Egypt

I know bartering is the norm in Egypt, however I am going to book some trips with SHARM CLUB whilst out there and wondered what the etiquette was with things like this, is it still acceptable to haggle the cost of a trip, or should I expect to pay the set price. I know with taxis/shops you haggle but I am unsure when it comes to booking trips.
thanks

The rule in Egypt seems to be that if something is priced then you can't haggle, so I would guess that if they give you a price up front for the trips then that is it, but it can't harm to ask.
As for haggling in Egypt itself, we managed to get a few things for 10% of the original price. If you want something for a certain price, and are prepared to leave it behind, make the final offer and if they do not go for it walk out of the shop. Chances are they will be chasing you up the street a minute or two later! It is great fun!!
With haggling with taxis, haggle before you get in, and please go for the white taxis, NOT the black (you will see why when you get there!!).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
thats great advice thanks, I will look out for the white taxis, and also the black ones, I want to find out what you mean lolFrugal living challenge 2011

Just back from nabq bay.
We looked at all the tour companies before we left and decided on an English run one. We emailed a fair bit before we left and when we were out there haggled on the price.
I would do this where ever I was going though, not just Egypt.
In the end I got quad biking, and star gazing at really good prices and got around £45 per person off the one day to cairo trip too :j
You might as well try.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
