Do i need an active carbon filter for my cooker hood?

I have a new cooker hood which has a grease filter but do I need an active carbon filter and what does it do?

DEpends if its vented to the outside or not I think - if its vented o/side then you shouldn't need one.0

You may well find cheaper, but gives you a starting point (yes you do need both)

ps they just filter the air of smelly fumes at least thats the idea - but never as good as the hood being properly vented to th outside.0
