Need full audience at OXJAM event.
Any ideas guys?!
This is the main info, I've managed to get KUBB to play (My old guitarist) FREELANCE HELLRAISER (DJ who remixed all of Sir Paul's back catalogue) and CAT from RED DWARF to host it as well as 3 local bands, but I'm really worried no-ones gonna turn up. I've been handing out flyers, hitting message boards of radio stations (Even giving away tickets on air), sending out the details on Local promoters mailing lilsts as well as my own, yet ticket sales are pretty dire.. Its gonna be the biggest and best night Finchley has ever seen but I need people through the door so I can make some money for Oxfam.
Must be some ideas out there..

Just wanted to let you know that we're playing a gig this FRIDAY (27th November) as part of the OXJAM festival (all profits of which go to Oxfam).
This is one of the biggest OXJAM events taking place in the UK and we're very excited to be supporting KUBB who are signed to major label Mercury records. The band's album has gone top 40, with their most well known single 'Wicked Soul' reaching No 25 in the UK singles chart. With appearances on 'XFM', 'Later with Jools Holland', Popworld, Top of the Pops, CDuk and Jonathan Ross, the band has just returned to London after playing the Isle of Wright and V-festival. You can check out their myspace page at https://www.myspace.com/kubbmusic
Also confirmed on the bill is North London favourite DJ Freelance Hellraiser https://www.myspace.com/freelancehellraiser and local bands 'Straightjacket' https://www.myspace.com/straightjacketband, 'The Hush' https://www.myspace.com/thehush1 and The Distance, https://www.myspace.com/thedistanceuk
Doors open at 7:00pm, and the event itself ends at 11pm. Tickets are £12 (remember it's all for 'charidee'), available on the door (while stocks last) or by calling 0208 369 5454 - or via https://www.artsdepot.co.uk
The venue is the Arts Depot in North Finchley (London N12 0GA). The best route is to take the Northern Line to Finchley Central and then take either the 460 or the 125 bus 5 minutes up the road to 'Tally Ho Corner' which conveniently happens to be the location of the Arts Depot.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Have you put up posters in your local record shops? local oxfam shop, big banner outside the venue?
how about speaking to some local bar owners to see if they can put some leaflets on bars (they might not want to encourage their customers to leave the pub though).
i know its short notice but maybe you could get some local businesses to put signs up in their windows or offices and in turn you could have their posters or PR stuff up at the event?
maybe some offices would be willing to buy a job lot of tickets for their staff, it might even be tak deductable (i know nothing of tax though, except that i hate it).
local college canteen or student halls or student village?
i'd love to come but i am oop north, i'm sure that it'll be great. well done for going to the time and effort! oxjam rocks!0 -
I'd go, but I'm even further north.
Tickets wouldn't be tax deductable for charitable purposes, but they might be able to claim them as a legitimate entertainment expense?
Try hitting companies with young staff, anything involving sales or recruitment too.
If you can find someone who can post it on a staff email bulletin or something.
(And isn't it The Cat?)
Good luck.for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0
