switching supplier and potentially moving house in 6months
I'm on the Scottish Power online 7 duel fuel rate and like alot of people just got the letter through email regarding rate changes etc.
Now 2 things spring to mind
Have they updated the comparison sites yet? As I do a check and I still appear to be near the top/at the top with SP7 rate.
I am considering the 100quid cashbacks being waved around and even if not on top rate on comparison it'd still appear to save money for me.
2nd question
I plan to move house within the next 6 months, how does that effect potential 12 month contracts and all that?
What is to say that at the new house/location the fuel will still be cheapest to where I am now?
Also will I be forced to keep existing supplier and "move", or can I just cancel due to moving house.
My ideal would be:
Start new contract now (just expired) and claim the cashback
6months time, inform supplier I am moving and to close account
Start (maybe, depending on rates) new contract with potentially different supplier in 6months time
What do people think? (including the obvious, stay on existing SP online 7 rate or move anyway)
Thanks for reading

Sounds good to me. I'd move away for a cheaper option now. When you move house they cancel the contract without penalty. In fact I just did it and have chosen not to go back with my old supplier but moved on to a different cheaper one.0

You probably can't get cashback unless you switch supplier. No free lunch, and no free laptop
