Hi,
I have brought my husband a Ipad for christmas and it has just been delivered. I have opened it to make sure it works etc, but found there is no sim card with it. It is a 16gb + 3G. No contract or anything.
Does it use a normal mobile phone sim card? Or does it need a special one? If so where can i get one from?
Thanks in advance for any help

You'll need a micro sim to fit the iPad. Most (if not all) of the mobile networks do plans for the iPad, take a look at this page from Three for starters, if you dont like Three then try one of the others.

Best to start on a PAYG and see how much he 3G data per month he needs, I bought an old Vodafone sim which doesn't expire and had to cut it down to the size of a micro sim, in the 4 months I've had it I've only used £2 of credit so this will last at least 1 year, I tend just to use wifi.
A monthly deal can be expensive if he's a small data users, but cheap if big; so best to wait and see his usage and sign up to a contract if that's the best option.
If you have wifi at home then let him pick the network and package which he wants after Xmas.0 -
You could use a normal sim, if you're handy with a craft knife0

If your husband isn't going to use the 3G aspect all the time and his existing phone contract has internet access, you can cut down a normal SIM to fit into the iPad and then buy a (99p) adaptor to convert it back up to the normal size.
This is what I do as I have an iPhone SIM with free internet access for a year (bought the SIM card from eBay) that I put in the iPad when I'm using that over 3G and back in the iPhone when I'm not.
