Female dog putting her perfume on??

My dog Lucy has a thing about my plug in air freshener.
She sniffs it, then rubs herself along it, sniffs herself then turns round and rubs her other side along it, has a second sniff of herself then seems happy that she smells good.
O/H said it looks like she's putting her perfume on!
Does anyone else's dog do this?

The Draught Excluder could benefit from some airspray- he delights in being absolutely pigging. As soon as he's washed and smelling pretty, he darts outside and rolls in the worst thing he can find...0

Ha ha! Don't get me wrong, Lucy does love a good roll in something disgusting and/or dead and decomposing! Once she found a catering size tub of coleslaw that had been dumped, bit the clingfilm off it and rolled in the stuff. It was about a year beyond sell-by and the smell had to be the worst I've ever known. I usually know when she's about to roll...she examines the object then throws me a shifty look to see if I've noticed before going for gold.
If I'm quick enough and say "Leave it!" she will, but more often she's quicker and goes blissfully into the roll. The coleslaw thing took me a week to get the smell off her...she absolutely stank!!0 -
Mum theory is that they roll around in smelly stuff to cover up the smell of dog when used to hunt things.
Seems like a reasonable idea to me.0 -
Hmm.
My choices are Draught Excluder, who as I've said, delight in being pigging.
Or The Rug, who'll happily nose in and swipe your shower if the door is open even an inch....
Wet dog or smelly dog. Not sure which I prefer!0 -
hehe that is so funny

sounds more like something a cat would do than a dog though.
My OH had an apple last night and had "polished" it on his dressing grown first to get rid of the waxy coating, well it sent our 10 month old kitten nuts, he was sniffing the dressing gown and rolling around on it, trying to burrow into it, so funny

I think the smell of stinky stuff is just how they'd smell in the wild. Whenever mine have a bath they can't get outside quick enough to roll on the grass even if it's muddy, so the smell of soap feels wrong for them.
Lucy's just got a bit of a vanity thing, as well as all the stinky rolls, that makes her put her perfume on whenever she can.0 -
My fiance's parents dog does this. He also loves the smell of my perfume and will rub yourself against your clothes. No idea why though!Jan 1st 07 Car loan £4830.46@12% Personal Loan £11,517@8% variable Overdraft £1500 July 2009Halifax-£0Debt free date 14th July 2009 :j0
