EON Bills
I recently received my bill from EON, which confirmed i was in £96ish credit, I pay £60 for both my Gas and Electric.
A couple of days later i received a letter from them confirming that they had reviewed my payments, and would be reducing the direct debit to £9. I've rang them up and they have agreed to put it back up to £60 as i dont want to be in the situation of owing them money.
They have said that any credit will most likely will be refunded to me in the Spring 2011 annual review.
Is this right?, can they not just leave it on the account.
I'd like the money obviously but would rather be in credit then debt with them, i'm already in enough of that as it is.

well why don't you take the refund and keep the payment amount as it is?! that way you are always in credit and you are used to the money coming out your account?! am hoping to hell at spring we get a refund but saying that over the winter months you might consume more energy anyway...0

You did the right thing there there are many who have got stung that way.
They will probably leave any credit if you ask them0 -
Hi snowyz81,
It does sound like you are quite a low energy user, especially if E.ON have tried to reduce your Direct Debit payments at this time of year. :snow_grin
It is correct that your account will be reviewed in the spring, any credit is normally automatically refunded to customers at this point.
The spring review is the time when accounts should have a zero balance, so any credit refunded, this means payments can be set accurately for the coming months.
You will be able to build up your credit again over the summer months, ready for the next winter, if you keep your eye on your account (check meter readings etc.) you shouldn't fall in to debt.
If your unsure contact E.ON at the time of the spring review and go through the figures and your usage, just so your clear.
