Im looking to get Mac I phone apple and the guy was telling me to get the Air.
It will be my main pc which I will be taking with me from home to work, using mainly office packages, internet and carrying out research, also storage of music for iphone sync. In future I may try and do small video editing but no major plans yet of small home made films.
I realise storage is issue on Air for which I shall carry around a external HD.
Any suggestions?

The Macbook Air is very very very fast as it does not have a hard drive it runs off flash drives. If you have an external HD then I'd advise getting it.0

The Air doesn't have a DVD Drive, this may or may not be an issue for you.
The Air is small and light so easier to carry around, but also has a smaller screen and the battery life is half the time (that's the £849 MacBook and Air models, which I'm guessing you're looking at).
I have a MacBook Pro with the Core i7, I love it, very quick. Have you considered the MacBook Pro? Its smaller and lighter than a MacBook and has double the RAM plus it has the same sized screen with the DVD drive but is an extra £150.
Also IMHO if you have to carry the extra weight and bulk of an external HD it kind of cancels out the main point of the Air, of being small and light...
You'd be best to go into an Apple Store, look at them and comparing them, both are great but when you're spending this kind of money take your time to make sure it right for you.
You'll love either, I'll never go back to a PC now.0
