Pleeeeeeeeeeease can someone help this xbox novice mother answer her 10 year olds question.
We have an Xbox 360 120gb and the said 10 year old wanted to connect it to the internet to play games with his mates from school, instead of buying something to make it wireless (the xbox is nowhere near the router) can we trade the xbox in for one of those shiny new ones and pay money towards it?
Also, to ask a silly question, do we need the original box?
Apologies if this is in the wrong section... brain is far too frazzled from attempting to google the answer (and it is a Monday of course

Places like Game or Gamestation normally accept part exchange. Having the box is desirable but not essential.YNWA

Yes, you can trade them in at game retailers and even HMV will do you a trade in against a new Slim. If it's the black 120GB one then you're looking at getting about £75 off a new one, which means you'll need to put another hundred or so towards the price of the one with the 250GB hard drive (which is strongly recommended that you buy).
Most don't need the original box, but worth giving them a call before you set out just to make sure.0 -

Just to add that you'll also have to pay for Xbox Live to play on-line. Current prices from £32-£40 per year depending on where you buy the code.
With the new Xbox, you should get 1 month free Live once a new account is set up, before having to buy a subscription.Dave. :wave:0 -

If you buy the new 250GB slim xbox it has built in N Band wireless so if you have a n band router makes it pretty good value and with greater range. If you dont have a N band router it will still work anyway0
