Well, the time is ticking around fast for when me and OH start looking for a flat together :eek:
while I know that we wouldn’t be eligible for a council property (I earn too much), are the council able to give me a list of landlords I can approach myself?!

Ideally I don’t want to go through an agency again as they seem to charge too much and I doubt that me and OH would pass the credit checks (we are both great with our money now but wasn’t in the past). While I know that the LL can run a check I would prefer to explain to them in person and also prove with payslips etc that we can afford it.

Anyway, Im rambling now!! - are the council able to give me a list of landlords I can approach myself?

Have you had a look at your Local Authority's website fro how to contact their private lettings people? Or perhaps the National Landlords Association?

The site has a "Property To Let" search function which allows you to search by post-code. Call all landlords in the area you are seeking to move to and ask them if they have a property or know someone who does.

many councils have lists of Accredited Landlords.. whose properties have been inspected and are up to current good standards.....
