Can't find Wi-Fi using Toshiba Satellite Laptop! HEEELLPP

Hi, Thanks for looking, I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Laptop that refuses to find any WI-Fi Connections even when it is sat right next to the Router!

And yes the WI-Fi button is turned on, I have turned it off, rebooted, turned it back on and still nothing!

Some advice would be great as I'm beginning to pull my hair out.

Thanks

Daniel

    What router is it?

If you have an ethernet cable; plug it into the back of the router and see if it connects, then you can determine whether it's a problem with wi-fi or not.

So it's definitely wireless connection. Even though the router is still getting a connection I'd advise re-booting that if you haven't done already. Another thing to do may be switching the microfilter as I once found this slightly useful, but that's a long shot. It could be your wireless card in the laptop playing up.

Thanks, on the PC's in the office we're using Belkin Wireless connections the 2 that run on them are fine.

I've changed the Filter this morning just to double check, but still nothing.

    It's driving me mad!!!

It could be something to do with the IP address being dormant and the router not being able to find it?

Put 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. I don't think it asks you for a username and password with Belkin. There should be some sort of list of your connection stats. Send me everything you see and I'll be able to tell whether it's a problem with the router.

It could equally be a static IP address though, let's be optimistic. :j

I think it should be 198.168.2.1
