Wii remote and rechargeable batteries

I have a Wii and after 2 weeks the supplied batteries in the remote needed replacing so I put in a couple of rechargable batteries, 2500 mHa ones.

They were fully charged.

How long did they last? 1 day.
I tried some other rechargeable AA batteries. They didn't last much longer.

The longest I have had rechargeable batteries last is 2 days and these were these Hybrio ones.

So I bought more alkaline batteries and they are still going strong after 1 week.

So are rechargeable batteries not any good in Wii remotes or is it just me?

I get about four hours use from my rechargeables. I find it annoying that the Wii console has to turned on for the Wii docking station to work. I am told some 3rd party docking stations plug into a socket.

  • I have 4 remotes, run two on rechargable batteries and 2 on the docking thing which is plugged into my pc which is permanantly on I think. With rechargable batteries, I think the higher costing ones last so much longer and are worth the extra money.

But I don't have one of these.

So 1 day using AA rechargeable batteries is normal?

I think I will just have to keep buying alkaline batteries then.

The Wii fit board supplied AA alkaline batteries are still going strong after 4 weeks.

I would try different batteries, i have 2850 mHa`s and they last weeks of playing mario cart .

There is no way they should be running flat after 1 day

I bought some AA 2500mAh batteries from LIDL, They do not last as long as my older 1800mAh batteries
    i got from maplins.

I stocked up on maplins 2000mAh batteries last time they were £10 for 12. They last well but they are
slightly bigger and do not fit into everything. They are a tight fit in my camera. Just about get them back out.

Seems the mAh ratings are only a guide. Price plays a more important part i think.

  • wii remotes are a pain in the bum. mine gobble duracells in even when im not using it i very rarely play on it any more as the games are rubbish and the batteries are always flat.
    get a xbox360

also higher milliamps ratings are better suited to high usage devices like cameras with flashes

and to be fair a battery from lidls is probably flat when you buy it they are just a waste of money
