Which Tarif?
Quick question:
Would we be better going for a Scottish Power deal over a EDF deal seeing as we know SP's new prices but do not know EDF's?
According to the energy helpline website, i can save the same amount, £218, on both the SP Online Saver 12 and the EDF Saver 7 (ofcourse i can get £100 from EDF and £80 from cashback).

EDF's prices are frozen until at least March next year. Switch now, take the bonus/cashback, get through the winter peak consumption, and then switch again in the spring if they hike their tariffs considerably. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

That is a very good point sarge 123 ! my deal is the SP fixed on-line 2011 February and like you have had a look at the price comparison sites !they have said the EDF on-line saver 7 is coming in at about £86 cheaper with prices frozen until end of march .
The key point with Scottish power have increased there prices so I expect EDF to increase there prices in the future which could make EDF prices more expensive in April but with the £100 cash back and £80 Quidco cash back to compensate it makes it a close call .
With EDF and SP if you leave before the end of contract you have to pay an exit fee I believe .
It will be interesting what other people comments will be with regards your question .
Myself I am looking at it now as it takes 4 -6 weeks to change I think0 -
Jack,
I have just 'bitten the bullet' and transferred.
The cancellation fee is £60, so if i do move, either the bonus or the cashback covers it. Just for info, read a few posts on here about the cashback sometimes not working on Quidco, so i have gone for TopCashBack where i actually got 101% (£80.80p).
Hopefully it all goes to plan.....

I have just swapped to EDF after checking my monthly DD and annual usage against the comparison sites they are saving me about £120 a year plus the £100 credit and £80 cash back so I am very happy, there is a £60 exit fee(£30 per fuel) if you leave them before December 2011 but taking it all into account its still worth doing.0

Just one thing off note; according to the EDF account, i will be paying £6 ish for elec and £20 for gas a month.
Guessing this is either a mistake, or just a standard amount they say before they start asking for details...0 -

Loads of peeps have reported ludicrously low initial EDF DD's, myself included. Just get them to alter it manually once the account is opened. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Just to say some , inculding myself , are experiancing Quidco tracking problems for the EDF £80 switch deal , !!!0

We all now know that EDF has pulled their ONline Saver 7 tariff.
I asked to be switched a few days before the tariff was pulled, and have a confirmation email (5th Dec).
The email says that in the next few days i will receive a letter about the account including the contract. There is no reference number on the email that i can see.
I have not received a letter yet. Does it normally take a while to receive the letter?
Do you still think that i will get the online 7 deal?0 -
Give them a call. But the saver 7 tariff is still available for people who ask for it, according to their website so you should still get it. They give you 14 days cooling off period but you should have got the letter by the end of that time, so you have a few days yet but call them if you want to know if things are progressing.0
