  • Hi everyone, i have been lurking in your thread for a month reading every1s posts. I am a mum (22) with dh of 5 years with our ds3, i moved out of my parents house 3 1/2 years ago and for 1st 6 months was useless at keeping on top of things (dirty dishes, clothes not washed, clothes piled everywhere) i had PND at the time and thought i was an awful mum & wife, but now i realise that i just needed time to grow into my new life with new responsibilities & things to learn, i am very happy to say that i have grown well into all these things now my house is normally 95% clean but am now trying to give myself more of a routine of doing things so i can have a little me time (i have quit working FT after 2 years and have gone PT (16hrs), also trying to start up my own business from home). Been looking up flylady and have a control journal now and i love it have been doing it slowly over the last 2weeks. I wanted to post as i love my family but lost many so called friends due to have my ds at 19 and would like to have people to talk to that seem to put their family & home first rather than clubbing, drinking, drug taking etc. as so many people my age do now

  • its sods law that ive now ran out of christmas wrapping paper

now to decide do i wrap the box of chocolates, or do i wrap toy story 3 as thats all ive enough left for.

no more birthday wrapping paper either  so cant even give OH a couple of extra birthday bits

ohhhhhh i can wrap the chocolate and toy story 3 in one and that can be from the cat :p leaving just one toy story mr potato head needing to be wrapped so i can buy a sheet of wrapping paper for that rather than a roll.

then will be doing another HHC getting my living room back to normal as its a tip! odds and ends of wrapping paper scrunched on the floor along with rolled up balls of sellotape and cotton buds! i stupidly left the bathroom door open and the cat has brought them down to me one by one as he was playing fetch with them. mad cat!

pigpen I hope you get your deliveries soon. We have had another go astray. I think sometimes ours are put in porches of empty houses somewhere on the fellside. I don't expect anyone dares to venture down our hill in a van.

Does anyone know of an online pattern for a knitted snood/ buff that is cool enough for DD aged 24?

Thanks pigpen I knew I came to look for something online then forgot-thermals for 80 yr old aunt!!

Parcels are on about 4 day delay here they were ordered Thurs-Sun last week.. they'll arrive.. :D I am just a touch concerned about 1 which was my Thorntons as the machine said there were 2 parcels and only 1 was in the van.. but we'll see.

snood.. There are different types of head cover for this name.. I take it to mean a tube of knitted fabric you wear like a worm skin on your head.. circ. needle/dk/3.75 or 4mm needles and 120-150sts depending on how loose you want it OR circ. needle 6mm aran/chunky and 80-100sts and knit/st-st in rounds for 1.5 m.. head goes in one end like a hat and the remainder hangs down the back and is wrapped round the neck to form a scarf.. or make it shorter to sit on the shoulders like a hood. OR HERE

The big floppy beret type is sometimes referred to as a tam in which case try here

Or the 40's versions.. which is basically a glorified hair net..

wrap at the table!!!! Straight back and no pain!

    See above re orders.. ;)

DW, WM x2, TD all on
Floor swept, even under the table.. I found 2 forks, some blackbird feather, 3 green beads, a blue letter K and half a mouse (front half if anyone is inerested.. why do they eat the bum and not the brains?)
Few baby.. change her in a mo.
    Table cleared
    Airers emptied and refilled

Off to unload and reload DW and change a smelly baby

I will join you as I need to get off my butt and DS3 is desperate to use my laptop. I need to sweep and mop kitchen floor again, start dinner and wrap a pressie.

Thursday - bathroom, study and other grotty places! DONE

Went into town first thing this morning and got the last bits I needed for presents. I dont like being there when it gets so crowded so came straight back. Had put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker and thats smelling lush. Tree is up and so are decorations. I swear the cat has a grin on his face looking at the baubles on the xmas tree.
