  • ive had a mega cba day today. however its time to get off my behind and do some of the kitchen list as im now homeward bound for christmas :j so lots of lists to be made and completed, ironing to be done, washing to do be done, presents to be delivered to me and then wrapped, people to see and vouchers to spend.

i need to get the driveway cleared at some point however thats what set my back off in the first place so rather than doing an hour session, i think i might just do a 5 min careful shovel every day and put lots of grit down as the last thing i need is to go skidding and jar myself even more.

right HHC starting at 20.45 in the kitchen. going to have to leave hoovering downstairs again this week since im not risking carrying the hoover downstairs, however can get the sweeping brush out and sweep the laminate to make it look better.

Got to work (took 2 hours) and got home. Am expecting vitriol from DD who wanted me to pick her up from her friends. Trouble is there is NO-WHERE to pull in - the roadsides are awful - heaps of frozen snow - so I had to give up and kep going until I got home

Typical of the locality at the moment  our council have a lot to answer for.

An ambulance had to be abandoned near here because it got stuck and a bus tried to go along the bus route and again had to abandon it because of the snow. We have had no buses for days and the shops are getting practically no deliveries all because there has been no gritting or ploughing since the snow started. I really do wonder why we are paying council tax. Earlier in the year our bins were not emptied for 6 weeks  and there was not as much snow.

I have called and emailed the council and others are doing the same but it seems yet again we are being left to it.

Valli you have a pm ;)

Hello everyone, I'm definitely in this week!

We made it to Disneyland Paris safely on Wednesday, although we did leave 5hrs early just in case! Roads were awful and it was a bit touch and go as to whether we would go or try and rebook it - Dad drove my mum and sisters to the airport (they flew there) and then came back to pick us up to start our mission to Dover after deciding the motorways weren't too bad. It took 3hrs to get to Dover (instead of 1.5hrs as it should) but we were all quite amazed to get there at all, let alone in that amount of time! The roads in France were completely clear even though the temp was down to -6 for a big part of our journey - the UK definitely has something to learn from them!

The kids didn't work out where we were going until we saw the road signs right before we turned off the motorway into Disneyland :rotfl: They were over the moon! Had such a brilliant time and DS had a lovely 5th birthday on Saturday, complete with a dessert buffet tea party with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy & Woody - I'll never forget the look on his face :j It was below freezing most of the time we were there, and it snowed quite a bit. My face is burnt from the cold!

We got home at 3.30am today, and walked into a freezing cold and dark flat - the electricity seems to have tripped while we were away, and our stupid gas prepay meter had taken every penny that we put on it before we went. There was plenty on there to pay the £10 debt on Wednesday night, and still leave us with enough for a week when we got home. I need to ring the gas company and find out why it had all been taken, I did not appreciate having to wrap my poor bubbas up in thermals and jumpers before putting them to bed at 4am. We all have colds as it is and woke up able to see our breath :( I got a can of coke out of a box on the kitchen floor this morning and it was colder than one in the fridge! DH went to the shop as soon as we woke up and the heating has been on all day so we are finally nice and warm.

Unfortunately as the electricity went off it means our freezer must have defrosted (we only thought about that once it had been on again most of the day so didn't see if anything was still frozen). We have no way of knowing how long it was off for so I guess it means I should throw away everything in the freezer? I'm so upset as I've just spent the past 2 weeks stocking it with extra meals/leftovers as DH is self employed and has to have 2 weeks off over Christmas which means money will be tight. Now I have to start all over again, such a waste :(

Washing is almost all done, just about to put the 3rd and final load in. Back to school for DS tomorrow if school is open - his uniform was all ironed and laid out ready before we went away so all I need to do is fill his water bottle. It's also his nativity at 2pm, he is doing a 'secret robin dance' but can't show us or tell us anything about it apparently! I need to get some wrapping paper tomorrow and sort through all the presents to see what I still need to get. I did do it last week but have lost my list!

I will catch up on the kitchen list tomorrow as it shouldn't take long - was lovely to come home to everything all clean and shiny!

I've almost cleared the table, all the paperwork has been dealt with and either shredded, recycled or put in a pile to file. All the school dates have been put on the calender. It's looking a lot better. I'm stopping now though as i've got more work to do before i can go to bed and i'm shattered already.

the utility will have to wait until daytime as its minus 2 in there as it is just a lean-too with a plastic corrugated roof, so i dont really want to mop the floor as it will freeze:eek:, where as the kitchen is at 23 degrees at the moment as has a woodburner at one end and the aga style range (Everhot) at the other...but i still have not mopped the floor :o

Clear and wipe a shelf or window sill
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe the table and replace the cloth if necessary.[/STRIKE]
Sort through and clean out one cupboard
    Clean the oven and[STRIKE] hob..[/STRIKE] :D
    Extras
    1. Clean out the fridge.. make use of anything almost past its best
    2. Wash the windows

    :hello:Hi ladies!

Frost and freezing fog here just for a change. Back to school, which was pretty much okay, but I can't seem to get my brain in gear today, wandering around in a daze, trying to make sense of things! DS1 and DD still both unwell, with this nasty fluey-cold - the most awful coughs too. OH back at work, and DS2 at school. So how come the house is such a tip???

Minimal flying, just doing the rubbish and recycling flinging, and sorting piles of washing from the airing cupboard to deliver to rooms. I don't do irong, except for my work shirts. One of my Year 8's asked me why I always wear the same thing (black suit, different blouse and necklace though!) - he seemed quite amazed when I said it was my uniform. Bet he doesn't ask the male teachers the same thing. Really, it's because I won't buy anything until I've lost some weight - which I am totally failing to do, I may have to give in and buy something anyway. The last few times I've been shopping, I have tried, but can't find anything that fits or looks even half way decent. I usually come home sunk in gloom. I'm seriously considering a burkha.

No, I won't be taking up the Thornton's offer. (Where's the rolleyes smiley when you really need it???)

jenagain - I'm so glad you had a great holiday in Disneyland - it sounds wonderful!

love and hugs, especially for toots, and lady-liberty, and all our poorly flyladies.

Why is it that whenever I start a HHC my phone starts ringing. In duplicate! Home phone and mobile.

Anyway, I've cleaned the sink, wiped the worktops and swept the floor.

Sis hasn't received flowers I ordered at 11am today paying an extra £7.99 for same day delivery :mad::mad:.

In addition to the above woe I had card put through the door stating that my parcel containing DH's christmas pressie was at the side gate. I DO NOT HAVE A SIDE GATE:mad::mad::mad:. Useless delivery company can't find any record of my parcel number and now state that my neighbour signed for it at 3.15. That will be my neighbour who I was talking to at school when we collected our children at 3.15? F***wits!!!

mumto5.. I had one delivery guy left £500 worth of stuff out the front of my house.. in the middle of a council estate on a main raod.. needless to say they were long gone by the time I got home.. I also had a few packages thrown over the 6ft fence and not carded to were ruined in the rain.. and others that just smashed on impact with the concrete path the other side of said fence!! . Idiots aren't they!

Well, a good first day - done ALL my daily to do list (including ironing) and done all the level 1s.

Feeling like made progress with depression today thanks to GP.

Off to bed - 2 signing classes to do tomorrow as well as unexpectedly take DS to nursery; I thought DH was doing it but he now can't so have no idea how I'm going to fit it all in. Oh well, I'm sure it'll work out.

Night everyone and thanks for having me back :)
