in Credit cards
Hi All
First post here and I was hoping that some of you could give me some advice.
My younger brother (19 years old) has approached me asking about getting a credit card as he needs to buy some parts for his motorbike. He could really do with a card that has 0% on purchases for at least 6 months to enable him to pay off a bit per month.
He recently applied for a Tesco card however got declined. Having checked his credit report there is nothing untoward on there other than a lack of credit history and a low net salary per month (c.£750-800 pm).
The problem now is that he doesnt want to keep applying for cards and getting declined on them.
Does anyone know of the best card companies that would be likely to accept him or any way of improving his score so he can get an acceptance in the short term?
Any guidence would be appreciated.
Thanks

Has he tried his own bank,if they say no then vanquis or cap 1 classic would be the best bet.0 -
But a better way forward would be to save up first and then buy the parts.0

Thanks Star Fire - we have looked at his own bank but it is only 0% for a 3 month period so we were hoping to find something with a longer offer on. I will mention the other two to him.
Rb10 - appreciate what you are saying but unfortunately he needs his bike to get to and from work and it currently wont run without the new parts (which he is getting from a breakers yard so trying to save the pennies there!)
Thank you both anyway0 -

I must point out he should take up the banks credit card if they have offered it to him as your mate has no credit history his chances of a 0% card elsewhere is ZERO.0
