Fighting a PCN. Help and advise please!

Hi there,
We were on a shirt trip to London over the weekend.
We hired a car and unfortunely parked in a 'Residents Parking Area' in Camden for about 20 mins, and came back to fine a PCN on the car... for £120 or £60 if paid within 14 days.
The odd thing is that the PCN states the car Reg as KV60 **U while the Reg Plate is actually KV60 **N.
The ticket also notes the Tax Disc No.
Why is the Reg No. different by that last single letter ? and I presume I should discuss thia with the Hire Co. ?
Thanks in advance ?
Tom
If they got the wrong reg number, it means the ticket is not valid, but post this on pepipoo.com as they can advice you better.
* edit is this a council ticket ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Its a Council Ticket issued by a Civil Enforcement Officer ????0

Hope you got the shirts!!:DHi there,

Second what Taffy says, its unlikely they will pick up on it but keep a watch out for the hire co. Come back if there's any more later.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
