Hi Everyone
My daughter is in the Army based in Germany. About 2 months ago I paid cash into her friends bank account so she could give this to my daughter. There has been various excuses and this person still hasn't given my daughter the money.
Any suggestions what can be done - whether my daughter can have a word with her seniors or whether there is anything I can do.
Many Thanks for any replies

Mandy,
Yes the "Armed Forces Section" would be the wrong forum, as its more of a famly matter than a "Armed Forces Moneysaving".
Though for the future, you can send mail special delivery through the BFPO system. You could always transfer the cash into Euros, and enclose it in a card/package and send it Special Delivery etc.
I will move the post now.

She has a english and german bank account - she did not have enough funds in her german that she needed. She had to request a new bank card for her english account and was waiting for this to be sent in post.0

I presume her friend is in the army also - you don't say? Do you know the girl's parents? If yes I would talk to them first; failing that I would bring it up with the army.0

I'd get your DD to give the girl one last chance, making sure she tells the girl you're going to go to their superior officer and report it as a theft...
I'm assuming they are both in the army, and she would give her until the day after their next payday to pay up...
by doing it this way she isn't going to her superior officer direct, which, if she has to live with the girl, might cause problems.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

A friend of mine loaned her daughter's then boyfriend a few hundred pounds via bank transfer when he was stationed in Germany. He refused to pay it back when they broke up. My friend wrote to his commanding officer who intervened and the money was repaid.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
