we have recently been told by our company we are to be made redundant because it is too expensive for them to employ us! our job as site fixers still exists but they want to use agency staff to do these contracts so they dont have to pay us NI,holiday pay etc.
can anyone verify wether this is legal

If the job is there, then where is the redundancy? Unless they can show that there is insufficient business to maintain paid staff?
If they are going to have agency staff, they will still be charged for holiday pay etc but with an additional payment for the agency.0
