We had the same similar/problem with our TT line, it got steadily worse until the crackling drowned out any conversations last Monday (broadband also 'dropping out' on a regular basis).

There's a difference between a line that crackles badly and is very obviously faulty, even to the ear of the rep who answers your call moaning about it, and an intermittent broadband fault.

Both might actually have the same cause, but reporting a voice fault appears to be the way to get something done.

I have to agree with you, but there are ways of reporting problems without moaning - try to get the 'rep' on your side.

Just an update. That's us now transferred from Talk Talk to BT.

The router & BT Vision box arrived last Tuesday ... the day intended ... impressive, considering the weather. Finally wired it all up yesterday & it all works fine. Voicecalls are crackle free, the internet's been working fine with no drops in the last 24 hrs (with Talk Talk it'd crap out at least once every hour) and we've watched two movies on the BT Vision box with no issues of any kind whatsoever.

Am so glad we transferred, even though BT are a bit more expensive.

As to Talk Talk ... got an email from them yesterday saying that they are looking into our "technical problems" as a matter of urgency. Talk about locking the stable doors ... idiots.
