I came across this site last week and very glad I did. I ordered some little Christmas pressie bags (which are exquisitely handmade) and miles of ribbons at £0.05p per meter! (think I got a bit carried away) there are loads and loads of bargains on there at the moment and I'm very pleased to say it all arrived safely Yesterday beautifully packaged.
The missus has now found her new 'favourite' website which lead to a whole afternoon Yesterday of Sky Sports in peace!

Hi Sarah, no I'm not linked to the site at all, just thought they have some amazing deals on it, it was exactly what I was looking for and thought I would share it with everyone else.
    Happy Christmas :santa2:

    Hold fire on orders!!!

I have tried to place an order with Jackie's Fabrics today and they can only take payment via Google Checkout. Unfortunately I got an email saying my payment failed and that I may be charged a fee, so I contacted my bank who said there's nothing wrong with my account, but that Google have charged me £1 for the privilege!

So, I phoned Jackie of Jackie's Fabrics and the poor woman is tearing her hair out. She says Google Checkout has been rejecting loads of orders yesterday and today and she has lost so much business over the weekend. She is trying to sort it out with Google Checkout but asks if people could hold off placing orders until midweek it will give her a chance to resolve things first. She is a one-woman business and it sounds like this is the last thing she needs in the run up to Christmas. (Orders placed are 'reserved' for 7 days but obviously she needs the payments to be cleared first.)

Anyone who has placed an order already - do check if you've been charged £1 like I have. I am assuming Google Checkout should repay this? I won't hold my breath...

Yep I had exactly the same problem with my first order and I knew there was enough in my account, then I remembered this had happened on another website a while back, its a fault between IE (internet explorer) and Google Checkout, to remedy this I used Firefox (Mozilla) as a web browser (much faster and more stable than IE) and it works fine. :rudolf:
  • Have just ordered loads from this site. Great website, like a kid in a sweet shop. Used firefox as manorpaul suggested, worked fine. Infact going back on there to get more, can't help myself.
