Moving from BT

I have moved my parents phone line and calls to plusnet (due to be completed on the 14th) Had the usual letter from BT saying sorry you are leaving, however they hint my parents may lose there number they had had for 35 years. This cant be right?

Or to put it another way: The account with BT to which this number is associated is being closed; it is now up to the provider taking over service to take over the number.0 -

The interesting thing is Plusnet is part of the BT group!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
