I've LOST my recycling bin!

I've lost my recycling bin (is that what its called? Its so long since I saw it I can't remember). It used to be on my desktop as you'd expect but its gone off somewhere. Does anyone know where it might be hiding?

You haven't told us but,assuming you are running Vista or Windows 7:-

- Right click on the desktop
- Select 'Change desktop icons'
- click box by 'Recycle bin' to put a tick in it
- check that your bin has re-appeared.

if this doesn't work, or you are running XP, then i suggest you let Microsoft do it for you with a fixit.

Success! I am indeed running XP so I followed your instructions and have just emptied nearly 700 (!) items out of my restored bin - shows how long ago I lost it, lol..

I think Col7777 is suggesting defrag because of all the gunk that was in your recycle bin, you're maybe due a good clean out.
