New Bank Account questions !!!!

Hi people im currently in the process of rebuilding my credit got a few defaults which are 4 years old now, now the last three years my credit has been impeccable everything has been paid ontime or earlier worked my way up to a vanquis gold card with £1500 limit and a capital one classic with £1000,

Now since i defaulted on my Barclaycard (settled) Barclays wont touch me for anything, im currently a premier customer and they wont even give me the black debit card that goes with the account for £500 a day atm withdrawals , i feel my brush has been tarred with them, i just cant work it out, i have £900 plus going into the account every week, never been overdrawn a penny and i always have 2k plus in my account.

Im thinking of moving to Halifax and trying to get the reward current account and transferring eveything over my question is, is this wise during repairing my credit and will i even get the reward account?
ive not been refused anything in the last 3yrs everything ive applied for ive got, but Barclays wont entertain me.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Shane

I'm assuming you've checked your credit record with experian or equivalent - if not probably worth doing. If everything there seems ok and if you are not being refused credit elsewhere then this suggests it is only Barclays that have a problem with your previous issues. Banks sometimes have their own internal 'risk factor' for their customers based on the way you have operated your accounts with them.

If they won't give you what you want and there's a good chance another bank will then you should definitely think about moving
